Pengaruh Kecerdasan Interpersonal Terhadap Perilaku Perundungan Verbal Pada Siswa Madrasah Tsanawiyah

Abstract

Bullying remains a widely discussed social issue, with verbal bullying being the most common form, particularly in school environments. One factor that can influence the occurrence of verbal bullying is interpersonal intelligence, which is a person's ability to understand, empathize with, and interact with others. From an Islamic perspective, this ability is considered part of praiseworthy morals, which include behaving with kindness, respecting others, and exercising self-restraint in speech. This study aims to describe interpersonal intelligence, verbal bullying, and the extent of the influence of interpersonal intelligence on the verbal bullying behavior at MTs Az-Zahra Selacau. This research uses a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The sample was taken using a simple random sampling technique and the research instrument was a questionnaire. The analysis results indicate that interpersonal intelligence has a negative and significant influence on students' verbal bullying behavior. This is shown by the Spearman value of -0.445 with a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05 and a Nagelkerke value of 19.8%, while the remaining 80.2% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The hypothesis test result shows a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. This means that H0​ is rejected and Ha​ is accepted, indicating a significant influence of interpersonal intelligence on verbal bullying behavior.
